What’s In Your Bowl?

What’s in your bowl?  Do your dogs ever inspect your bowl?  Sharing food comes naturally to most, but not all foods are dog approved.   It’s always good to check with your vet if you have concerns.   You may have heard that things like chocolate, alcohol and Xylitol can be dangerous for dogs and best be avoided.

Here is a list of snack foods that I enjoy sharing with my dogs:

  • apples – sometimes I add a little peanut butter or almond butter
  • sweet potatoes – baked
  • eggs – they love eggs,  scrambled or boiled
  • fruit salad- blueberries, bananas, strawberries
  • chicken and turkey breast
  • salmon, white fish, or sardines
  • yogurt low sugar
  • cheese in moderation
  • cottage cheese
  • oatmeal prepared – no sugar added

Still unsure about sharing with your dog?  Ask your vet what foods are safe for your dog.

Do you have a favorite food you like to share with your dog?
